LinkStar VSAT service for West Africa, from F.O.B. SKY

F.O.B SKY, based at the Juch-Tech Inc Hamilton Teleport in Ontario, Canada, are offering two-way internet over satellite using a ViaSat LinkStar hub, since October 2005.. 

The terrestrial internet backbone for the Teleport is a tier 1 connection. 

Over the Atlantic, using the Intelsat 907 satellite at 332.5E, 27.5W,  longitude, a pair of transponders, one in each direction, are cross strapped so that the West Africa customer end is a really high power and high sensitivity Ku band spot beam pointed as shown by the beam contours in the coverage map on the right.

The Ku band spot, centred on Togo and Benin, covers all West African countries from Sierra Leone to Gabon and provides either dedicated or shared bit rate capacity for the needs of ISP’s, internet café’s, enterprises, educational and government users. 

Bit rates start at 128k/32k dedicated or, for least cost, shared at 12:1 ratio.

Downlink carrier information: Frequency 11185 MHz, Symbol Rate 8900 ks/s, FEC 7/8.
Note that an LNB with 10 GHz LO frequency is required with an IF frequency of save -f 1185000.
