Satellite antenna noise temperature and elevation angle

This page provides some examples, using antenna manufacturers data.

10m diameter antenna Model 8015 from ViaSat (formerly Scientific Atlanta) C band

Elevation angle(deg)    Antenna noise temperature (C band) (K)
5 46
10 35
15 29
20 24
30 17
40 14

To the above you need to add extra according to the complexity of the feed:

2 port rx only,  add 4.5
2 port rx and tx, add 4.5
3 port 2 rx and 1 tx, add 4.5
4 port 2 rx and 2 tx, add 9.9

18m diameter antenna Model 8018 from ViaSat C band

Elevation angle (deg) Antenna Noise temp (C band) (K)
