Using star network topology, the Evolution X3 is suitable for broadband access requirements such as Internet and VPN access to enterprise networks, as well as real-time VoIP and videoconferencing.

Group QoS traffic prioritization dynamically balances the demands of different applications according to their needs and bandwidth availability, across multiple sites and user sub-networks. VoIP and video are intensive in their use of the satellite capacity and are liable to cause overload and congestion with symptoms such as intermittent broken speech during a VoIP call.  The iDirect technology solves this using QoS techniques to prioritise VoIP packets over services such as email and ftp file transfers. The objective is continuous good quality speech, with emails and large ftp file transfers being delayed slightly, but only if necessary.

Features include TCP and HTTP acceleration, local DNS caching, increasing performance and maximising user experience.

The satellite modem incorporated a router function with Ethernet interface, allowing easy integration of satellite connectivity into almost any data network.

An extensive set of IP protocols and features are included such as TCP, UDP, multicasting, NAT and DHCP to achieve compatibility with a wide range of user applications, including corporate network extension, point of sale, SCADA, telemetry, multimedia and Internet cafés.

To meet changing requirements, over-the-air software upgrade features can add high security encryption (AES-256) or extend the remote’s capabilities allowing operators to customize Evolution X3 to meet technical and budget requirements.

The Evolution router is easily configured, monitored, and controlled through the iVantage™ network management system, a complete suite of software-based tools for configuring, monitoring and controlling satellite networks from one location. On request Bentley Walker can enable TDMA or SCPC on the return channel. If you wish to manage your own small network ask about Virtual Network Operator (VNO) options.

Technical:
Downstream: DVB-S2 max 45Msps. IP data rate per site 29 Mbit/s.
Upstream (return link): TDMA max 7.8 Mbit/s. SCPC: max 11.8 Mbit/s
TX IF: 950-1700 MHz +24V Uplink power control. 10 MHz reference.
RX IF: 950-2150 MHz +14/+19V 22kHz tone. 10 MHz reference (optional)

I don't provide this service myself, you need to call Bentley Walker and indicate, for example, the number of PCs and VoIP telephones you expect to connect and also describe the PC usage as say light, medium or intensive.  Say how many simultaneous VoIP calls you want to make.  This will help determine what bit rates would be appropriate to your need.

The maximum uplink bit rate will be limited by your dish size and BUC (transmitter power) so if you are thinking of the highest uplink rates in the future mention this at your initial enquiry.
