Title: Setting elevation of dish in Malaysia
Post by valt76 on May 5th, 2006 at 5:51pm
I need to set my dish elevation to get the ASIASAT2 satellite (100.5E). Having my location coordinates (lat: 3.2N ; long:101.58E) they return an elevation of 86° above the horizon. How can I set my dish using the scale at the back of it. I know it may sound silly but I can't figure it out since that scale is only showing from 10 to 45. Anybody can help me to sort it out?

If you take a close up photograph of the bracket scale plus a photograph of the whole dish and feed arm from an accurate side view that might help.  Please say what is the reading on the bracket for the long range side view picture.  Position the camera exactly in line with the two side front edges of the dish, and hold the camera level.  Send the camera email images to eric@satsig.net

Best regards, Eric
