It is a mystery to me also.

To compare prices I find it useful to work out the $ per kbit/s month.  For dedicated services the calculation is easy.  For shared services, divide the advertised bit rate by the sharing ratio.

So 512k one way dedicated at $440 per month is
$0.86 per kbit/s per month (amazingly cheap).

1M+1M two way 30:1 shared at $3000 per month is
$45.00 per kbit/s per month (amazingly expensive).

ref:

https://www.jinsat.com/prices-two-way.html

I would have expected both to be around $4 per kbit/s per month.

Best regards, Eric

Searching the internet doesn't seem the best way to find dedicated satellite services for some reason as I've been able to find only a few and no one wants to publish pricing for whatever reason.

We offer dedicated satellite services to South Africa on 2 satellites, both offering c band service with slightly different equipment requirements.

Can you offer more details on the type of network you are looking to support for the data rate and which direction you need it so that I can offer you appropriate pricing?

I look forward to your information.
