Title: "Degraded" Signal Status DW6000
Post by jaybeckham on Nov 5th, 2006 at 5:47pm
I have been getting about a 62 signal for the last year or so.  But about four months ago I started getting the "Degraded" yellow light for signal status.  No one at Hughes ever tells me what Degraded is and just sends me the standard "try this or try this" email that crank out when you request help.

One friend suggested I install a UPS to prevent this problem.  I doubt that will help as the system used to work just fine.  However I do suspect either movement of the dish due to winds etc or a problem with the DW6000.

Below is some figures from System control center.  Please understand at this moment the system is working.
Transmissions:  Number of Sucessfull transmissions 6026
    Number of Failed transmissions   4751
Number of Packets Submitted for Transmission  4881
At time the failed figure will be in the 6 figures!!!!

Sorry for so much info but I thought it better to provide as much as I have up front.

If I have to adjust the dish, how do I proceed?  When it was install the tech used a laptop to aim the dish.   I have a laptop that I could use.  I also recall some additional info available from the DW6000 but don't recall how to obtain it.

Thanks

Repointing Direcway/HughesNet is not new topic here, I suggest you test drive the site Search Engine.

Alternatively, check https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=DW+6000+Antenna+Pointing
