Title: Internet for mobile home in Europe? Post by jimcanswim on Apr 15th, 2007 at 4:27pm
Hi can anyone tell me what is available? I have seen loads of websites offering satellite broadband but none stating prices.
Could someone help? I will be travelling Europe in a camper van and want internet access as I run a little online business. I do not want to be paying astronomical fees per meg or monthly costs if at all possible. Thanks |

Hello jimcanswim
You can use OPENSKY as downlink (one-way satellite) and a mobile connection (GPRS, GSM or whatever) as uplink. This is a very practical and low-cost solution. https://www.broadsat.com/opensky/products/satsurf/ Cheers Malaika |

Hi Malaika, you have a very interesting suggestion there. I cannot seem to find much information apart from priceplans on that site.
I was wondering about the cost of equipment? Do I have to buy the equipment myself then link it up? Using the mobile for uploading, would I still be subject to roaming rates and would I have to be in a 3G location? Thanks for the info, it is the most interesting I have seen so far. Cheers |

Hi malaika, I have tried contacting them but their information is c**p. They just keep referring me to the internet site they have which is s***e.
There is nowhere near enough information. I think I will give this company a miss, thanks anyway. |
