Title: Lining up on Boat Post by grey_pete on Apr 27th, 2007 at 9:42am
I have just bought a Maplins Camping Kit Dish etc for occasional use on a boat when stationary. I have figured out how to assemble but would welcome advice on how to line up to a satellite for European tv reception. I have GPS availablity but cannot see any way to change the angle of elevation on the dish. Where do I start? Would welcome any advice.

GPS can assist in obtaining the azimuth angle, but it's pretty useless for elevation and skew/tilt. Unless you purchased used, I'm surprised that you didn't receive an operator's manual with the kit. Assuming you didn't, these might help: https://www.maxview.co.uk/acatalog/mxl006.pdf and https://www.maxview.co.uk/acatalog/satellite_zone_map.pdf
You might also find this page of some use: https://www.maxview.co.uk/acatalog/ALIGNING_MOBILE_SAT_DISHES.html //greg// |

Many thanks. The product you pointed me to looks very like the one I have so will follow instructions.
