Title: Need help finding orbital slots Post by Boondox on Oct 3rd, 2007 at 5:53pm
Does anyone know if there's a calculator out there that will help me find the position on the equator of a satellite I'm seeing on my spec anny if I have an azimuth and elevation plus my lat and long? Or does anyone know where the formula to find this out is located?

Use a page like:
https://www.satsig.net/maps/satellite-tv-dish-pointing-usa.htm Input your location (lat and long) then calculate the azimuth and elevation for a satellite. Do the results match your measured elevation/azimuth angles ? If not, select another satellite, east or west as required and click your location again. Keep trying again until the az and el results match. If you are in western europe you can compare your spectrum analyser results with mine and see if you can find a match based on the carrier spectrum patterns. https://www.satsig.net/spectrums/satellite-spectrum.htm Best regards, Eric. |

I believe this one may be of use: https://members.chello.nl/~berry.walda/GorbTrack.zip
Once you feed it the pertinent data, it appears the resultant charts may contain the information you seek //greg// |
