A 5000 Series iDirect unit is a satellite router.  Your ISP should be able to help you with activation of that box.

I'm unsure with what your exactly looking for...  I think your referring to the DHCP capabilities of the modem.  If so Mike is right as usual lol.  You need to contact your hub or noc and have them push it down to your modem.  They should know how.  Now if you have your current option you could do it yourself...  but to avoid any complications if your unfamiliar with your modem I would definately have your hub or noc push it down to you... the new field in your option should look like this...  I have deleted IP's

[DHCP_1]
     dhcp_mode = 1
     dhcp_lease_seconds = 43200
     dhcp_lease_range = (This is your DHCP lease scope, this is what tells the modem how many IP's to assign.  Must be in IP format i.e  x.x.x.1-x.x.x.10)
     dhcp_dns_server_ip = (IP of your primary DNS server)
     dhcp_dns_server2_ip = (IP of your secondary server)
     dhcp_gateway_ip = (Gateway IP, probably be set to your satmodem)

Hope that helped...

Hello Sir  TDMAMike
 I would like to activate the DHCP and NAT options of  3100 or 5000 modem. Is the solution of Mr. duckhead above is ok?

Thanks to all

Yes.  Contact your HUB or servicing NOC.  They should be able to help you with it.

Thanks Mr. TDMAMike, but I want some things I do manualy without NOC, because the NOC wants money 50$ to activate. I wants some options which activate DHCP and NAT. It is some optins into option file.
Regards

Changing something locally in your config will immediately post a "changes pending" notice on your remote (as observed by the Hub Network Operators).

Also, most changes made locally will not be effective until formally applied by the Hub.

You might as well pay the 50$.

wesambhaya,

If you already have a home router providing NAT and DHCP, why take it out if it can save you $50?  What I posted above is not a setup for NAT.  I'm unfamiliar on what to alter an option to enable NAT.

You can make the change yourself locally and it will immediately go into effect.  I can't guarantee your NOC won't see this.  Honestly, I can't believe they are going to charge you to do this.  I guess everyone is trying to earn a dollar...  If your dead set on doing this and are going to pay anyway, make the change and see if they catch it.  If they do and charge you... your not out anything, you were planning on paying anyway...

Keep in mind the IP's that you must enter into the "dhcp_lease_range ="  must be IP's in your subnet coming off the modem... NOT NAT'd IP's...  If you know how to do this I would be interested to know...  Never can know too much:)

He will more than likely get away with it until they see the changes pending and right click on his remote and run a"compare configurations." Once they do that, they will see his changes...(and either revert him back to his old config until payment is rendered....or just charge his account).

There are very few changes that you can make to an iDirect unit that the Hub wont pick up (visibly).

Its all about making money.  :)
