Title: HughesNet service on Satmex6 ?
Post by Forum Admin on Jul 15th, 2008 at 3:24pm
I am interested in establishing the facts surrounding HughesNet service(s) on the Satmex6 satellite.

The conflicting information I have received so far:

1.  There is a HughesNet carrier operating on Satmex6 at 12000 MHz Horizontal down ?.

2.  There is a Hughesnet hub in Mexico ?.

3.  There is a Hughesnet hub in Panama that sells the service via multiple resellers throughout central and south America countries ( Mexico, Honduras, Brazil etc ).

4. The Panama teleport Details: Ufinet , for HN7000 and Hn7700 Carrier Polarization : receive-Horizontal, transmit- Horizontal.  IF Frequency13820 (x100kHz)  + LNB LO freq 10750 MHz = 12.132 GHz.  Symbol rate: 9000000.  Satmex 6: 113º west ?

Are the above true ?  Are there multiple Hughesnet carriers ?  Where are the hubs ?  What are the carrier frequencies, polarisations and symbol rates ?

What do you know to be true ?

If you operate a service or are a reseller of Hughesnet service you are welcome to describe exactly what you know and do below.

Best regards, Eric

I believe that PegasoBroadband has HughesNet service on Satmex 6, their hub is colocated with the Intelsat Teleport in Ellenwood GA just south of Atlanta.

HNS also operates several transponders on SM-6

Here is an image listing HughesNet outlink and return link carrier frequencies on Satmex6.

What do the the pairs of outlink frequencies refer to ? They are 250 MHz apart.

Best regards, Eric.
