Title: Frequecy and symbol offset Post by smlt_vsat on Aug 4th, 2008 at 7:34pm Dear All What is meant by frequency offset and symbol offset and how it influence and affect in remote commisioning. What should be the nominal valvue of those and on what factors depends ?what happens if the vlue is low or high smlt |

Eric, is probably the best guy to answer this....but I will give it a shot. Freq offset is drift by an oscillator from the nominal frequency...this information is reported to the Hub which makes corrections accordingly. Symbol offet is a calculation used by the Hubs UCP (after acquisition/post-frame start) to make symbol delay corrections as bursts arrive at the hub. This information is also reported and controlled by the Hub.
Most HNOs wont get much use out of those values when commissioning a remote. |
