Post by Eric Johnston on Dec 20th, 2008 at 3:33pm
Derived from press release 20/12/2008 ...

* Geolink Satellite Servicesis installing the latest 5IF iDirect Hub, building upon its current network infrastructure in the EMEA zone and increasing its capabilities for customer VSAT networks.

With the collaboration of iDirect and Eutelsat, * Geolink deployed a 5IF iDirect hub in Turin, Italy using the latest iDirect technology, DVB-S2 with ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation) and an Evolution X3 Router.

The establishment of this hub at the Eutelsat Skypark teleport in Turin, allows Geolink Access to access satellites W3A, W6, AB1, AB3, Telstar 12, Eurobird3, Seasat2.

Geolink Access, the IP service provided by SeaMobile Europe, is an established brand in Africa and the new iDirect platform will enable their service to be expanded into the Middle East and Central Asian territories.

Since 2002, Geolink Access offers a complete IP service including project management, site maintenance, 24/7 support, bandwidth on demand, and value added services such as voice over IP, videoconferencing, and bandwidth dynamic management.

Geolink Access has been delivering satellite connectivity to the African continent for over 6 years, and is now able to supply the growing demand in the Middle East and Central Asia.

The Maritime industry is getting ready to explode (growth).

It wont be long before there is a stabilized ESV on just about every ocean going vessel (particularly super yachts, and significant sized platforms).

INMARSAT is probably scrambling about right now.

* Seamobile Europe has became Geolink Satellite Services so text has been amended in above postings.
Best regards, Eric.
