Title: Part needed Post by copterdr3 on Mar 21st, 2009 at 6:52am
Im in Taji Iraq, i have recently acquired 1.2m dish with mount and i already have on hand a Hughes 7000 series modem and LNB. the missing peice of the puzzle is a BUC. I have attempted to research a parts supplier to get a assembled Huges radio unit, but have been unsucessful.
does anyone know a company (either US or UK) that does individual parts sales so i can get this system put together and operational?? Thanks |

If I read you right, you want a transmitter - presumably 2 watts - as opposed to an entire TRIA (Transmit/Receive Integrated Assembly). The whole TRIA consists of
-transmitter (BUC), -waveguide, -OMT filter, -LNB. If yes, it's kinda hard to buy the Hughes transmitter by itself. Unless you find somebody parting out a system on eBay for example, retailers usually only sell the whole TRIA. Montana Satellite for example, sells refurbished 2w TRIAs for $200. See their https://www.montanasatellitesupply.com/HughesNet_Satellite_Internet_Parts_s/67.htm . FYI, their photos are incorrectly labeled. What they identify as a "TRIA" is actually the OMT filter). The entire thing from transmitter to LNB is considered a TRIA. //greg// |

Thanks for the assistance.
I have found a radio assembly here on Taji part # is VCD-022275-0000. the assembly is complete minus the LNB. would that work with the Hughes modem? |
