Title: WildBlue installer needed
Post by Chrliev on Aug 24th, 2009 at 1:47am
I am in need of a wildblue installer. I needed to move my dish and wildblue wants an install fee which is ok, but also wants me to sign a new 2 year contract and I just want to finish out my last year of my current contract.

Everything is hooked up secure and ready to go I just need someone to point and tweak the dish properly, then I would be set.

Located in the city of Yorba Linda, OC California about 30 miles south of Los Angeles, CA. If you or someone that you know can perform this last step for me please email me at: chrliev@yahoo.com

I'm not sure if the WB call center is outsourced, but this almost sounds like whoever it is - works on commission. Because that bit about needing a 2 year commitment - just to get a dish moved - smells fishy. I'd call them back, talk to another operator. If you get the same story, ask for a supervisor.

Short of that, check the yellow pages.

Thanks for the installer list but most are too big for my little problem and of the others one has not answered yet and one email comeS back with errors...

Apparently sat Internet is not popular in this area, most likely due to extreme competition from Readily available and less expensive options like DSL and Cable.

I suppose my options are to junk the Sat and get cable or buy the WildBlue APA and Channel Master and try to do it myself. Which would in essence make me an uncertified WB Installer. Or find out if anyone rents the electronics since WB installers would probably have a hard time making enough money to buy lunch around here...

Thank you to anyone who can offer help or advice to me.

Unless you have the original Wildblue installation work order, don't waste your money on an APA. It's basically a filter, and the work order contains the filter setting specific to your installation. There are at least six filter settings on the APA. Without knowing which one to use, it may do more harm than good to guess.
