Title: Upgrading from iDirect to DVB-S2
Post by scottpeterd on Sep 4th, 2009 at 1:28am
As I'm looking to switch providers with my existing IDirect 3100-NB Ku-band equipment, I'm hearing that DVB-S2 will give me a large improvement for Soho use.  I'm looking at upgrading to a Hughes HX-50 IDU.

Can anyone in a similar situation give me feedback about their experience?

The technology your service provider uses to provide the service with is hardly relevant. They all charge the same dollars for the IP bandwidth delivered. It's only the oversubscription and the quality of their backhaul to the internet that will change. Some may add value adds that you could benefit form or that they will charge you for. I would suggest you look for a good service provider before you select a technology platform. Not saying that there is anything wrong with your current one, but if you are looking you must be unhappy?
