Title: Request time outs on I-monitor Post by xband on May 17th, 2011 at 6:42pm
Hello guys, I need some expert advice
Im currently troubleshooting Request Time Outs showing in the Latency tab of the I-monitor software for a stabilized antenna 1.2 meter with an 8 W BUC Do you think this may have to do with the I-Direct 7000 series Netmodem or the Codan BUC ? The chain looks clean Thanks |

Assuming you are managing the hub? What is the events and conditions tab telling you? UCP or ACQ? If ACQ then the modem is clearly out of the network and not up layer 2. If UCP is present, then the modem is out of the network at layer 3.

Hi, no I was at the remote side, but with I-monitor I was checking the hub remotely, I would get a big number of Request Time Outs in the Latency tab, the Events and Conditions tab was clear.
The issue is now rectified we concluded that it must have been interference/atmospheric scintillation Thanks |

That could have been the culprit, but more often then not, latency timeouts are the result of overcontention or being down at layer 3.:)
