https://www.SatelliteTODAY.com brings you an exclusive live webcast of the second ILS Proton Launch Campaign for 2011. On July 15, 2011 at 18:55 EDT, 22:55 GMT, you can witness the launch of the SES-3 satellite.
 
Lift off is at 19:16:10 EDT, 23:16:10 GMT.  

This is the 2nd ILS Proton launch of 2011 and the first ILS Proton shared launch. International Launch Services (ILS) is a world leader in providing launch services for global commercial satellite operators and has the exclusive rights to market the Proton vehicle.

The Mission: The Proton M launch vehicle, utilizing a 6-burn Breeze M mission design, will lift off from Pad 39 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, with the SES-3 satellite and KazSat-2 satellite on-board. Separation of the SES-3 satellite is scheduled to occur approximately 8 hours, 01 minute after liftoff. Separation of the KazSat-2 satellite is scheduled for approximately 1 hour and 23 minutes afterwards.

The Satellite: SES-3 will be the home of key media companies delivering educational, international and high definitoin video channels throughout the U.S. SES-3 is the third satellite in a new generation of SES WORLD SKIES satellites bearing the “SES” name, joining the existing line of AMC satellites over North America and the NSS satellites covering the rest of the world.

The Vehicle: The Proton M/Breeze M has evolved over the past forty five years to become the most versatile commercial launch vehicle available today with over 360 launches to date. The Proton M/Breeze M provides improved performance and reliability, mission design flexibility with the multiple restart upper stage, and increased payload volume within the fairing.

The ILS Proton Breeze M launched from Pad 39 at the Cosmodrome at 5:16 a.m. today local time (7:16 p.m. EDT, 11:16 GMT on July 15, 1:16 a.m CET on July 16).  After an 8-hour, 1-minute mission, the Breeze M successfully released the SES-3 satellite directly into geostationary transfer orbit. The KazSat-2 satellite, built by Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center (Khrunichev), was delivered directly into geosynchronous orbit after a 9-hour, 24-minute mission.
