Also we learned that ka-sat finder info abt. beam 80 is mis-leading.
It cannot be trusted. 79 and 80 according to Sat-Finder and Skylogic give coverage, however BW say no.
Who knows what is the truth ? what do we have to believe ?
Why is BW and Skylogic giving mal-information ?

There are plenty of alternative VSAT services with beam coverage of Libya, including Misrata.

See: VSAT service Europe
Many 'europe coverage' beams extend sufficiently far to the south to include Libya.

Also: VSAT service Africa (and Libya!)

There is alternative service. OK, Eric, but that's not the point.
There is extensive info through the internet ánd their SAT-Finder programm that states that there is this beam 80 over Benghazi.
And the Lybians see that too, now feel cheated as we all know the beam is there, but Skylogic, BW say it is NOT.
No further info available, but it is obvious mal-information from Skylogic, ór BW.

I am uncertain of the beam 80 centre lat/long and the diameter/shape of the beam. My page draws all beams as circular, except for some southerly beams.

I don't know if Tooway service is yet offered in the Libya beam as some or all of the beam may be still leased to the military, TV news or whatever.

Can you get an analyser picture of the downlink spectrum over Libya ?

Best regards, Eric.

Beam 80 is an steerable beam that now covers Northern Iraq (now Beam 83).

Skylogic made the decision to steer the beam before the launch of the KA Band services.

KU Band Tooway services are available over the whole of Northern Libya using a 1.2m dish
