Title: HX 50 intermittent during peak hour
Post by kyra on May 7th, 2012 at 6:28pm
hi all

we are running HX hub platform that currently focus to ATM. right now we having two problem.. when the peak hours 1)some off remote are intermittent state.
2) the okay remote facing ATM down (cant do any transaction)

from diagnostic page in HX 50 we found that log as below
Priority Q 3 high latency pkts 264(7.77%) MARGINAL
Priority Q 3 very high latency pkts 69(2.03%) BAD ***
our hub is new brand HX hub that using full windows 2008 server..

I suspect you'll also find your transmission error rate high as well. On the Statistics Summary, that's the Stream Error percentage. That's often accompanied by a lower than anticipated Rate Code. Together that often signifies a pointing error, usually the POL angle. But it can also result from errors induced by cable or ground faults.

It's also probably happening around the clock. But peak time for satellite likely coincides with peak ATM usage, which would make the issue more noticeable than during off-hours.

thank greg

yes the stream error rate are too high almost 40-60%..
do you some idea to resolved this issue... from the hub side n remote site...

Antenna pointing angles must be optimized. You can do AZ and EL yourself by watching the Signal Strength. You can also perform the gross adjustment of the POL by setting it to the calculated angle. But you'll then have to work directly with the hub to fine tune POL
