Can someone tell me what Satellite Internet Systems will work in Afghanistan, Camp Bastion in particular.

The main VSAT internet service provider in Afghanistan is Bentley Walker. We have equipment available on Camp Bastion / Leatherneck for collection from our on base stockist.

Hey Dave,
Many of the guys here are put off by Bentley Walkers' initial outlay for the equipment, the monthly cost is very attractive mind you. There are around fifteen to twenty personnel here trying to find a supplier of equipment at a reasonable rate. Most will be here for at least another year or so and possibly more. Who supplies BW with equipment? Are there other distributors in UK Europe or even Dubai?

Equipment suppliers would be overwhelmed with interest if they issued the equipment for a reasonable price. Out of interest, who manufactures the equipment?

Hi Justin

Bentley Walker subsidize our equipment cost heavily, the equipment, supplied typically between $350 to free of charge, has an actual cost of much more...which is more than reasonable.

The equipment is manufactured by Hughes (98cm Hughes HN9200 system)

I would suggest more research into other providers available and comparing the costs.

I have a HN9200 Modem so only need a Satellite Dish, can you price for dish only?

Hughes Modems are locked to their supplier, so it will need to be a Bentley Walker supplied modem.

Please email me at david@bentleywalker.com with the modems S/N and I'll check

I believe we currently have a used 74cm dish on base at leatherneck. But we do not break down complete systems to supply new dishes.
