Title: Protection mode X1
Post by Billiebob on Mar 3rd, 2014 at 2:07pm
Has anyone heard of an X1 going into "protection mode" when it senses over/under voltage or any other issue??  I have heard that concept before and recently had a BUC fail slowly which put 2 X1 into non-operational state before I figured it out.  The modems needed a hard reset to bring them back to life.   Anyone knows for sure??

Hi Billiebob,

I have never heard of this mode either.

According to the handbook:

Protection
• Internal, primary current fuse, inside power supply
• Over current protection
• Short circuit protection

OK, so the "overcurrent protection", WHAT happens??  THAT is not the case as a BUC change out was the cure.  What is REALLY aggravating is HOW to get the thing looked at for warranty??  iDirect refuses to talk to you if you are not a distributor.  What if you're an installer responsible of keeping their distributor in business??
