Title: Ku- Band & C-Band
Post by SAT on Jul 7th, 2014 at 12:52pm
Dears,

Is it possible to Transmit/Receive in C-Band from the HUB, and Receive/Transmit in Ku-Band in the remote?

Does any Satellite Provider provide such kind of services?

BR,

SAT.

I would have thought that this was technically feasible on some satellites - possibly Intelsat ones, where a transponder switch matrix may allow any up beam to be connected to any down beam, in a particular transponder bank (72 MHz bandwidth).

If the cross-strap connections you require are not already set, for the particular combination you want to be possible depends on the relevant transponders being empty and unused, so that the setting may be made without lots of other customers losing their service.

If you can afford and want to lease two entire 72 MHz cross-strap transponders for 15 years I am sure they would be interested, and may be able to accommodate your requirement when a new satellite is brought into service.   On existing satellites it may not be feasible if carriers are already operating for other customers who are using beam to beam permutations which are not what you want.

There is no harm on asking Intelsat (for example) if what you want is available.

Best regards, Eric
