satellite finder reccomendation please?

Ex Member Ex Member	Sep 3^rd, 2006 at 3:22pm Can someone reccomend a sat finder that will identify the bird and provide accurate readings. Right now, I am on the rooftop with my laptop using the hughes modem and registration setup to zero in on signal.

As I stated in the other forum,
"If you're pointing your own dish, there's no "satellite finder" in your apparent price range that can satisfy your requirements. The majority of professional installers are even reluctant to part with that kind of money.

Do you even know which satellite you're supposed to be pointing at? Have you been assigned a specific transponder yet? If you do know which satellite/transponder, have you obtained the AZ/EL/Pol angles required to acquire the correct signal ?"
