compatability of idirect on a mobile antenna

Does anybody know how efficient/easy idirect modems are with mobile antenna that dont have built in GPS?

GPS is going to have to come from SOMEWHERE.  Your modem needs a NMEA string (from GPS) for it to determine its frame start delay (FSD) to get into the inbounds (return/upstream carriers).  Look for an external source.

Otherwise: No communication.

mobile antenna without GPS .................... sounds to us as a normal fixed antenna on top of a van Smiley It takes 2 to max 5 min. to point it manual without GPS if you have a good satellite meter. For automatic pointing you need ALWAY'S a GPS receiver connected to the antenna pointing unit.

I have a mobile system with an iDirect modem and switch. It also has GPS. Its a display unit but its priced right. check it out at
