Hi Guys,

Anyone run a distributed NMS?  We're looking to upgrade one of our hubs to iDS V8 and possibly running distributed NMS.  I know sweet F.A. about it at the moment and was wondering if anyone is doing this and if there are any release notes from iDirect with a fuller explanation?

Cheers,

Lukio ;.)

If you have a large customer base, it will difinitely take the load off that E366 or E3550 (single) NMS server.  8.0 is memory and processor intensive (memory especially) so you should definitely consider 1) Distributed NMS or 2) adding memory to your current box.

Other than that, I havent heard anything bad about it.  I know iDirect was working a redundancy feature for it, but I am not sure if it is out yet (it may be, I am not sure).

Ideal thanks Mike ;.)
I'll have a look round the TAC site and see if I can find any documentation.  Think it's definately worth looking at for future proofing our networks/hub.

Lukio.
