Thermal design and analysis of mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies for power related electronics products.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a high value low volume design for manufacture environment such as spacecraft related products.
Key Tasks:
Mechanical Thermal Analysis of component and assembly designs particularly related to Electronics related products.
Thermal management of electronics enclosures, heat exchangers, (air to air, air to water etc) PCB thermal management analysis
Ensuring compliance to the relevant customer, legislative and environmental specification.
Technical support to manufacturing and process engineering groups.
Liaison with the relevant departments and customer throughout the design cycle to achieve specified objectives.
Assist in the management of prototypes and pre-production builds.
Ensuring compliance to company procedures, development and completion of suitable qualification and testing programmes.
Technical & Professional skills:
Knowledge of relevant design techniques and tools appropriate to Thermal analysis and engineering.
Particular knowledge of Radiated Heat Transfer desired
Basic understanding of electrical / electronic engineering.
Project plan interpretation and time management skills to meet programme and personal objectives / milestones.
Qualification & Experience:
Mechanical Engineering or Physics related degree
Applied knowledge of Thermal analysis and engineering principles and tools.
Personal Attributes:
Ability to work both alone and in teams as required by the individual task.
Ability to work within defined timescales to meet programme milestones.
Ability to deliver considered and cost effective design solutions to meet the technical challenges of the mechanical / thermal engineering role.
