I've got a 2.4m dish that I use with iDirect service on Ku and C band. I use NJT BUCs and Norsat LNBs. If I switch over to a LinkStar service, will I need to change out the BUC and/or LNB?

Find that out from your service provider for Linkstar. Give them the model of the BUC and LNB that you already have and they'll tell if those are within their RF range.

OK, I understand that. How about powering the BUC. Does the LinkStar modem do that in the same way that the iDirect modem does? If I read the specs correctly, it looks like the LinkStar can power up to a 5W BUC, just like the iDirect.

Dear David,

The answer is yes, if your BUC was powered by the iDirect, the linkstar modem should be able to power it as well.
