Hey Eric,

I'm trying to get our new router set up and it can not read the signal from the VSAT modem. The router is broadcasting and can hook-up w/ PC, but it shows no connectivity. The router software show that it is not recieving any signal from the modem. The iDirect modem is working becasue we can get online using the old "g" router..

I set it to acquire IP address automatically but no resolve to our problem. Does it need to be set statically?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your iDirect satellite internet service provider will tell you what LAN gateway IP address and subnet mask to use.

Put the gateway IP address (e.g. 192.160.0.1) and subnet mask (e.g. 255.255.255.252) into your router. Set your router itself at an available IP address (in this example 192.168.0.2)

You should be able to ping to IP addresses, but to access web site names you need specify a DNS server.

Check the plugs on your ethernet cable.  The raised insulating strips between the gold contacts should not be crushed down as they may prevent the socket spring wires going down onto the gold contacts.

Best regards, Eric.
