I am looking for a portable or VERY SMALL satellite internet system that can set up easily throughout SE Asia and Philippines. this would be for the purpose of receiving internet TV requiring 500KB down or greater and the use of a computer. Will be needing MANY of these VERY soon if the right system is available.

1.   I suggest you use cheap satellite TV type receive only dishes and DRO LNBs.

Arrange for your 500k IPTV traffic to be merged at some large TV uplink teleport into some big TV carrier (approx 27.5 Msps).  Then use some cheap satelite TV set top box with an IP output to feed the ethernet to Aminos, thence to TV screen.

2.   I suggest you use cheap satellite TV type receive only dishes and expensive PLL LNBs.

Transmit the 500k IPTV traffic yourself using SCPC modulator.  Receive sites need expensive low bit rate SCPC modem, then ethernet to Aminos, then to TV screen.

In both cases use multicast IP addressing.

3. Instead of Amino and TV screen use PC plus screen.

4. If there is a requirement for a return link and internet access then use transmit/receive VSAT terminals. You can then combine internet access from several PCs at each site with broadcast IPTV download in multicast mode.

Best regards, Eric.

thank you for your reply. We have been rethinking what we will do to get our home school and ministry into the remote places.
It seems more beneficial to just purchase inexpensive computers and a 2 way internet sat system. for these locations that do not have any other internet source.

Can you suggest quality vendors for Philippines, Lao, Cambodia, and Myanmar.  For Myanmar there is severe oppression of the people there. we will need something VERY small to smuggle and hide the installation.

If you have any good ideas, let me know at my email... tombrasher@ymail.com

We really love to get schooling and ministry to the most remote places. this is our mission.

We would be able to pay a competitive wage for a system administrator if you have any recommendations.

Thank you so much.
God Bless you.

Dear Tom
Our company offers RICS (Rural internet Connectivity System), which I believe could be suitable to your needs.
It is designed to provide 2-way Internet connectivity to all of the Pacific Island Countries with internet download speeds between 256kbits/second and 2,048kbits/second, using a 1.2m KU band antenna.

The complete set of equipment measures 0.350 m3 and weights 48 kgs. RICS runs on 110V/220V or 24 Volts and consumes 35 Watts of power, resulting in compatibility with solar equipment.
