I am using HX50.

I would like to find out what are the expected  average uploads/down loads  per hour of the modem in idle state , that is when no PC or router is connected to it,

With the introduction of new FAP by BW on W3a Africa satellite and looking at the Historic details , i feel the modem is down/uploading  too much data  even when my computers /router are off

Good afternoon,

I would recommend contacting support@bentleywalker.com to review your connection status. We can monitor your usage and advise if there are any local traffic isssues affecting your performance.

Our grade of service documentation is also available via support.

Even with the PC and router powered down, the modem itsellf carries on a 24/7 dialog with the gateway server. But it's all health and welfare stuff, maybe an occasional firmware update. Here's a my usage snapshot of a typical 0200-0700 (GMT-5) block:
04/01/2010        2:00        03:00        58             0.49          **         0.14
04/01/2010      3:00      04:00      60          0.47          **      0.05
04/01/2010      4:00      05:00      59          0.32          **      0.05
04/01/2010      5:00      06:00      60          0.35          **      0.05
04/01/2010      6:00      07:00      58          0.35          **      0.05

I'm in bed, but the modem is still chatting. Column 5 is download, column 7 is upload. I consider this to be normal data transfer during otherwise idle time. Significantly more than that? Suspect malware - or somebody hijacking your local signal.
