I would be interested to know if Ka band users on existing Hotbird will be able to operate on the new KA-SAT.

I just hope the legacy hardware is compatible.

If the new equipment has only one cable to the antenna and does not need any polarisation adjustment how does it work?. �

Is Ka-SAT circular polarisation ? �Is KA-SAT linear polarised with each individual beam pre-twisted so that the signals arrive with the polarisation approximately parallel to or at right angles to the local ground level?
