Can anybody tell me what the setup between the Inetvu 7000 controller and the Idirect X5 modem should be in order for the modem to receive the lats and longs from the Inetvu controller?

For the modem to receive coordinates from the controller you must configure the "Geo Location" tab in iBuilder as a mobile.

Then select your GPS settings for communicating with the modem such as your baud rate (usually 9600 or 4800). Select "Serial or NMEA" and then configure any additional options that might be specific to your network.

Now you can connect the modem to the controller with a Telnet setup or COM setup in the Configuration tab of the iNetVu software.

Once you configure the communication settings for the modem to talk with the controller, the X5 will begin to receive it geo from the controller's GPS.

If you decide to use the COM setup, be sure you select the same baud rate in the iNetVu software as you did in iBuilder. For example, if you selected 4800 baud in the Geo Location tab of iBuilder, then you will need to select a 4800 baud in the modem configuration tab of the iNetVu software.

Hope this helps.

How did you go?

What WaveGuide said was correct for the configuration.
