VSAT hubsAdvantech Satellite Networks (or SatNet for short), formerly known as EMS Satellite Networks and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Advantech AMT, is a Canadian designer and manufacturer of VSAT hubs and remotes in accordance with the worldwide DVB-RCS standard. SatNet's DVB-RCS solutions are claimed to be the only multiple access solution capable of delivering up to 54 Mbps for downloads and up to 4 Mbps for uploads at each remote terminal, or enough bandwidth to support anything from a small business to an entire community from a single remote terminal. SatNet also offers SCPC hub and terminal solutions which are upgradeable to DVB-RCS. The SpaceBridge division of Advantech AMT is now part of Advantech Satellite Networks. SatNet is a member of the SatLabs group, set up to promote the interoperability of DVB-RCS open standard terminals worldwide and they have obtained their SatLabs DVB-RCS certification. Low cost VSAT mini-hubs are possible, as well as larger VSAT hubs serving up to 10,000 and more remotes. EMS SatNet has deployed more than 50 full-scale networks and thousands of terminals worldwide. |
