High speed internet access in Rocky Point, Mexico
« on: 31. Aug 2004 at 00:14 »

Hey there.  I am going to Mexico for awhile and need to operate my business via internet (connecting to my customer's server via VPN).  I am lost in the language of Spanish first of all and mostly, satellites, etc.  If I buy a dish set up in Arizona, which provider would I need to get to make it work in Mexico.  Help.....

Before you commit hundreds of dollars to satellite hardware, I should warn you that VPN over satellite is generally SLOWER than dialup. It's a factor of latency; the additional time it takes the signal to make a 90,000 mile round trip.

Any other suggestions i.e. how about broadband and just how the heck do I get that in Mexico.  Works great in Arizona!  The internet cafes have a great connection. What would be similar? Thanks!
