The satellite transponders are "cross-strapped" so that the uplink transmissions from the customer dish go to the NSS7 satellite over the Atlantic and then down to large VSAT hub teleports in the UK and USA. In the other direction, from the internet towards the customer dish, the transmission are from the large hub dishes, up to the satellite over the Atlantic and directly down to the customer dish. The Vipersat network uses modern high-performance CDM-570L satellite modems, each with an imbedded IP Router, to provide the interface between your LAN traffic and the satellite links that connect remote stations to the hub and to each other. Network management software allows the hub to set customer ports and
system configuration and manages the protocol, modem, RF equipment and IP
broadband networking. The service is suited to business, voice and video applications with 5 to 250 PCs per site. It is less suitable for consumer level, home user, low traffic, applications such as 1 ot 2 PCs, used occasionally. Website navigation: Back to Vipersat VSAT hub |
