| The Intercel Group is a private
telecommunications company that designs, installs and operates local and
national cellular telecommunications networks in sub-Saharan Africa. Intercel has been operating in Africa since 1985 when the founder, Mr Joseph F Gatt formed a company called Starcel Congo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ("DRC"). Since then the Group has expanded into Guinea and Madagascar.
By 2005, Intercel plans to link customers in at least 3 countries to a planned Internet backbone while serving their core voice services. The company additionally provides satellite services to long distance telecommunications firms which also includes call termination and refiling into several networks worldwide.
