Instructions to find the land height at your specified location.

Change the scale of the map by licking the plus "+" or, minus "-" sign on the right.  You will see more or less of India. Once your location of interest is in view put your mouse cursor near your location and drag near to the middle. Continue altering the scale till you see exactly what you want, lake, mountain, valley, town, village, house.  Enlarge the map scale by using the + sign.

Alternatively, to locate a place, type the name of your location above.  The following are examples: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Calcutta.

Choose the Map or Satellite options in the top right corner and note the pull down menu options for Terrain or Labels. Tick these to see what shows. The terrain option adds the height elevation contour lines on the map when you select the more detailed map scales.  The photo image may be helpful as you get closer to you location of interest. The height shown, in metres or feet above nominal sea level (datum WGS84), corresponds to the tiny flashing dot at the centre of the image.
