Alternative satellite broadband service

On 27th January 2006 Aramiska abruptly ceased service.

Prime Satellite Broadband are available to help all those let down by Aramiska.

Working with the UK's main DStar distributor, Orbit Research and satellite operator, Eutelsat, they are ready to quickly get you back online using LinkStar DVB-RCS equipment.

They have experienced engineers and provide the highest level of support and advice.

Please go to their website http://www.primesatellitebroadband.com

or contact them at sales@primesatcom.com  or Tel. +44 (0)1582 651171.

I believe that most of not all Aramiska customer were on Atlantic Bird 2 above on 11390 GHz Horizontal 30000 Msps 7/8 FEC.   There is a LinkStar carrier at 11319 MHz Horizontal with 40000 Msps 2/3 FEC.  The Aramiska LNB is probably re-useable. The Aramiska BUC used 50 ohm cable and N connector.  The BUC LO conversion frequency is unknown.

Background

By way of background explanation, see the Aramiska announcement on their web site reference: http://care.aramiska.net/content/view/100/67/lang,en/

There is also my forum at http://www.satsig.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=ivsat-eu where various people are putting messages about the situation..

Quote from Aramiska web site:   "We regret to inform you that Aramiska and its services are shutting down and the company will be unable to provide you with internet access after today, 27th of January 2006"

There were customers in UK, England, Scotland and Wales, and in Spain, Italy and Germany.

Later a new company "Ouranos networks" announced that service would be resumed, but see  problems reported in the satellite internet forum 15 Sept 2006 with ouranos-networks .
