The 60W and 80W used Mitec BUCs was recently purchased from FPL.
Mick Estes tested the used Mitec 60W BUC and is getting 60W out of the flange and is in good condition and comes with a 90 day warranty
The Mitec 80W Ku-Band BUC we sent back to the manufacture to be fully refurbished and also comes with a manufacture warranty.

We have a trailer unit with the mounted Ground Control .95M dish unit and another brand new ground control in the box .95 meter unit also.
The camera is not on the trailer system now. Our pricing did not include a camera.
It’s a 16ft dual axel heavy duty trailer with 1/8 inch metal siding in two major sections, front and rear. The rear tailgate is heavy duty as is the entire unit. It was originally designed for a rough working environment with heavy equipment around. They didn’t want the trailer to fall apart if ‘tapped’ by a dozer. I’m guessing the trailer weighs in in the 5,000 maybe more area.
There are four 12Vdc marine batteries inside but they should be replaced. The inverted needs replacement also. There is a 2.3 KW Onan generator inside.
A nine foot hydraulic lift was used to put a Pan/Tilt/Camera on top, linked to the satellite unit for remote control and viewing anywhere. We removed the camera of course.
They are Galileo .95 meter Mobile MSS mount systems. One is brand new in the box, the other used.
Original price of a new one was $8,399.00, but we will be much less.

I note that, for a BER=10E-8 :
8-PSK 3/4 Turbo needs Eb/No=9.8 dB (includes 3 dB margin) Symbol rate = 0.44 x bit rate.
QPSK 3/4 Turbo rate needs Eb/No=7.4 dB (includes 3 dB margin) Symbol rate = 0.67 x bit rate.
Remember to keep the symbol rate and bandwidth unchanged by reducing the bit rate, otherwise the carrier bandwidth will get wider and you will interfere with adjacent carriers. |

Finally got through to trusty Umberto - the seemingly sole SkyDSL technical support bod. So, Turin (Twooway) has a problem today and no indicated time of resolution. So nothing to be done about speed today.
Re the general speed question - he confirmed no volume limitation on download speed. But did indicate that other customers had also complained about max speed and their billing people had adjusted their monthly fee. So I shall be pursuing that now. He did point out there was no guarantee on minimum speed . . .
