LinkStar: Intelsat 901 Ku band spot West Africa.

LinkStar: NSS-10 C band Africa.

AFRI-SAT, with the support of their head company Skyway.net, Germany, are offering satellite internet access service on three new LinkStar based broadband IP networks for Africa on satellites Intelsat 1R, Intelsat-901 and NSS-10 in Ku- and C-band.

The LinkStar networks are presently DVB-S but new Linkstar terminals being sold are to the new DVB-S2 standard to make sure customers are ready for later upgrades of the AFRI-SAT services.

The new Ku band Intelsat 1R service AFRI-SAT LinkStar service covers most areas of West Africa.  Customers can participate with >= 1.2m dish and >=1 W BUC.

The Ku band Intelsat 901 service uses a particularly attractive spot beam coverage centered on Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria - see map.

C band LinkStar coverage includes all of western and southern Africa, excepting the extreme eastern coastal region of Africa.  Somalia and Madagascar are beyond the beam edge. C band operation is possible the to west of the 5 deg elevation contour line, which I have marked in red.

Services include dedicated and shared needs for community ISP's, internet cafes, enterprises, educational and government users.
