This graph shows an example of monthly traffic. The download traffic is the "In" and upload traffic "Out"

The download component is 141.659 kbit/s or 47.4 G bytes per month. A PC user may download 1 G bytes per month and need an average bit rate of 3 kbit/s. But it could be very much more if they download videos etc. The traffic analysis has been done using the traffic measuring tool featured here http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/rrdtool/ which is a traffic data logging and graphing application
I am thinking of making up a PC with Linux and putting the RRDTOOL program on it and then plugging it into the network to monitor the traffic of each terminal. If you know how to do this I would be pleased to hear from you. Have I got the right idea ? eric@satsig.net
