Let us put a stop to the cheques being sent to the EU.

Lets stop wasting money giving it to the EU bureaucrats.  They don't deserve it.  Support the "Stop the Cheques" campaign now.  Please contribute some of your time and/or money: Visit http://www.democracymovement.org.uk
Email the government now - click:  Ask Gordon Brown to stop sending money to the EU.

In 2004, the Labour government sent £82 million pounds a week to the EU.  Their accounts are riddled with fraud and waste - the auditors and whistle blowers say so - so why don't we stop all money to them completely.  Teach them a jolly good lesson I say.  Stop the fraudsters by stopping their money.

Next year we are due to increase our contributions to £115 million a week.  Absolutely loopy.

Think what could be done with the money instead, apart from tax cuts:

1. Promote peacekeeping in the most troubled countries of the world, £200 million (equals 3 weeks worth of EU payments)

2. Spend £1000 million more on a single budget for the medical research council and NHS research. (13 weeks)

3. Help newly married couples get a home  £970million (12 weeks)

4. Waste more on unnecessary paranoid security measures £2000 million (25 weeks)

5. Give the United Nations some money for famine relief in the Horn of Africa 35 million (3 weeks)

6. Spend a load of money on athletes so we can do better at the Olympic games  £600 million (6 weeks)    It would be better to make all kids do 2 hours of compulsory sport every day at school.

7.Set up new "national sports foundation" £34 million ( 3 days worth of money to the EU) Sound like more bureaucracy to me like "sport coordination jobs"

8. Spend  £100 million on increasing the number of community support officers (2 weeks).  Better to just tell all adults that they have a duty and responsibility to get involved and stop yobbos in the street and drag them off to the police station.

9. Give every pensioner a free off-peak bus pass £250 million (3 weeks).

10. Increase spending on schools  £440 million next year ( 4 weeks of EU payments would match this). Better just give the entire education budget to the children's parents as vouchers to spend on whatever schooling they fancy.

All these ideas above came out of the Budget this week and amount to about  71 weeks worth of payments to the EU.

So if we had stopped the cheques to the EU around 18 months ago - when the EU failed its audit for the 10th year running - Gordon Brown could today have doubled his investments in all the areas listed above.  Alternatively, if schools were his priority, he could have doubled the entire total investment in schools for the coming year of £6 billion.

Personally I think we should be spending money on 24 new nuclear power stations with the objective of making this country wholly self sufficient in all power requirements by 2020.   Some of the electricity produced will provide all electrical power and heating throughout the country and the remainder will be used to produce hydrogen gas which will be used by all motor vehicles by 2030 and will be available for heating as well.   Requirements for hydrocarbon gas, oil and hydrocarbon (octane) petrol will be negligible.  The entire energy system will be essentially carbon dioxide free.  Just turning water to hydrogen and back to water again.

Today's EU bureaucrats are draining Europe's resources dry and depriving funds from improving education and the environment, from international development and reducing poverty and from strengthening the economy.

Facilitating trade & co-operation in Europe simply does not need the EU's massive central budget.  We need far fewer laws, and far fewer people in government and only those with common sense and imagination.  Lets get rid of all the politically correct bums on seats, who waste taxpayers money drinking coffee in their offices.

Stop the Cheques to the EU today.  Think tax cuts or better things to spend it on. Don't give your money to fraudsters !
