Terms and conditions for use of the Satellite Signals Ltd web server.

Satellite Signals Ltd (SSL) provides a limited web site hosting service subject to the following terms and conditions and acceptable use policy.

SSL reserves the right to vary the terms and conditions and to cancel the service either in respect of an individual site or all sites without notice and without compensation.   In all matters of dispute the decision of Satellite Signals Ltd shall be final.

Web space (in Mbytes) and download bandwidth is provided (Mbytes downloaded per month). Both are a limited resource.

Charges:

£10/month buys: Disk space: 40 Mbyte, 900 files, Traffic transfer rate 1 Gbyte/month
Charges are be subject to VAT.
Minimum contract period is 12 months.

Traffic flow use in excess of 1 Gbyte per month, will be charged at £1 + vat per Gbyte, for example:
 100 Gbytes = £100 + vat per month
 200 Gbytes = £200 + vat per month
 300 Gbytes = £300 + vat per month
 400 Gbytes = £400 + vat per month
 500 Gbytes = £500 + vat per month
 600 Gbytes = £600 + vat per month

Payment:

Payment shall be made monthly or quarterly in advance or as agreed. Charges may vary. Overdue payments will result in web site deletion. For overseas users, we request 6 monthly or annual payments to reduce currency transaction costs.

Acceptable Use Policy:

Satellite Signals Limited does not wish to unduly restrict any of our users from using The Internet, you may do pretty much what you want with an account from us. However, we do expect you to be sensible, we expect you to police your own activities and not engage in any activity that is illegal under any law or that would bring disrepute or embarrassment to Satellite Signals Limited, any of its employees or clients. To this end, we have listed below activities that we do not accept, but this list is not all inclusive.

General
Engaging in harassment of other Internet users, of any sort
Attempting to by-pass user authentication or security measures (cracking);
Port scanning or any kind of "security testing" unless specific permission has been given by the owner of the host being tested;
Attempting to interfere with or deny service to any other Internet user or host,
Operating or allowing an open mail relay
Operating a link-scheme or link farm
Forging email or USENET postings
Sending large numbers of unsolicited e-mails (junk mail)
Forwarding or posting "chain letters" (multiple forwarding) of any type
Posting inappropriate messages to USENET newsgroups e.g., posting large numbers of unsolicited posts (spamming), or posting encoded binary files to newsgroups not specifically named for that purpose
Attempting to interfere with other users email or USENET posts;

Web Space
You are responsible for the content of your web site, you must obtain legal permission to use material where appropriate (e.g. copyright, etc). You must ensure that the content and use of your web site does not violate UK or any law.  You are solely responsible for the content and use of your web site, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Satellite Signals Limited, any of its employees or clients.    Please send us your web pages as email attachments and we will upload them.

Actions
We reserve the right to remove any content deemed inappropriate and / or suspend / modify / terminate an account that violates our terms and conditions or this policy. We also reserve the right to charge for our time and any other expenses (such as, but not limited to, legal advice) involved with the enforcement of this policy when a user violates the policy and we have to spend time sorting things out and fixing things.  We at Satellite Signals Limited also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any information we have about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any information put on your web site.

Users may be permitted, at our discretion, to upload, download and delete files in their designated directory area on the server, using ftp process. Take care doing this as it is easy to make a mistake and mess thing up. Users are recommended to keep their own complete back of of their files.  We have mirrored disks intended to cope with a disk fault, but this does not deal with the accidental, or otherwise, deletion of files which will be immediately deleted also from to the mirrored disk.

High traffic useage: In the event of high traffic useage exceeding the specified monthly limit, higher charges will be applied (see above).
High disk space storage:  All sites should keep to the specified maximum storage limit (see above), but, subject to availability and on a discretionary basis, this storage limit may be increased to some higher figure at a higher monthly charge.  Please keep all image file sizes to a minimum, it will save storage, bandwidth and cost and improve the web browsing experience service to your visitors.  Remember that many visitors still use slow dial up lines.

If a web site is left unused or outdated for a considerable period of time, SSL may at its discretion amend or cancel the site. This will generally, but not always, be after attempting to contact the owner.
