A major study of Starlink satellite network performance, dated May 2024, reports on work carried out by a group of university researchers.

Their conclusions, using tests with Zoom and Luna cloud gaming, include:
. Starlink is comparable to cellular for supporting real-time applications.
. Starlink is key to remote users getting a good connection to the internet.
