Title: pointing the dish
Post by Bryan Smith on Feb 4th, 2006 at 8:29pm
I live in an area where we have high winds that knock the dish out of alignment often and it cost me about $50.00 dollars to get the dish pointed back in the right direction each time. I want to buy a signal finder so after the wind blows my dish out of alignment I can repoint it myself. Can anyone provide me with an inexpensive signal finder I can purchase that will work?

Satellite TV dish? or Satellite internet dish? If the latter, which provider?

Don't know why you should have such a recurring problem. Both my dishes (one TV, one Internet) have been mounted for years without needing (re)adjustment. And that's counting the hurricane or two that skirt by here nearly every year.

You may want to look at the BirdDog Satellite Finder. It is the one of the better ones that we have used.

Where did you purchase the Birdog from? Usually they provide datasets for the meter they sold. If it was purchased from Perfect 10, then datasets are available from their site at https://www.birdog.tv/Default.asp?CallType=CONFIGURE
