Title: Can I use my DW7000 in Iraq?
Post by Curtis Theis on Apr 7th, 2006 at 8:52am
I will soon be deployed to Iraq and currently have an account with Direcway in the US.  I have a DW7000 modem and a dish with a 1-watt transmitter.  Is it pragmatic to bring this dish along and use it there?

If so, what will I need to do?  Any help would be appreciated!

It has been reported that the the Direcway (now HughesNet) network operations center in Europe grants special dispensation for US Forces. Otherwise US-spec Direcway/HughesNet equipment is not normally commissioned outside of North America.
