Title: What does 161 deg azimuth mean ? Post by PeterKepel on Apr 19th, 2007 at 7:43pm
Hello,
How do you set up a dish. I got the technomate TMS1500 but cannot get a signal. I got the below info from sites, but what do I do with it? For example: What does 161.2 mean and how do I know what to do with my dish to point to this number? Astra 1 Bearing: 161.2 Elevation: 30.1 My position Latitude = 50.8219, Longitude = 4.4085 Lat = 50 degrees, 49.3 minutes North Long = 4 degrees, 24.5 minutes East Thanks all for your help. |

Elevation is the up - down angle. Look for a scale on the bracket behind the satellite dish. Zero deg elevation is towards the horizon. 90 deg elevation is straight up.
Azimuth is the normal compass bearing. zero is north, 90 is east, 180 south and 270 west. 161 deg is between east and south so use a compass or think where is the sun mid/late morning. wxw Best regards, Eric. ref: https://www.satsig.net/maps/satellite-tv-dish-pointing-uk-ireland.htm |
