Title: iDirect 3100 Issues
Post by AggieLT on Feb 4th, 2007 at 7:42am
I have a brand new "StarCom" Bentley Walker purchased system that I have recently installed.  I am using Eutelsat W6 and I am at Taji, Iraq.  I bought a satellite meter to aid in my lack of dish pointing knowledge and aligned my dish to W6 with the meter.  Bentley Walker had me download iSite and am I using it to access my reciever.  I got a signal from W6 with the meter (PQ=99) but the iSite software keeps telling me that I have no signal at all.  The Software has been set up for W6 as far as I can tell.  I am also confused about where to proceed from dish alignment, the tech support person I've been talking to at Bentley Walker has been less than helpful.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you.

Hello,

Possibly problem can be wrong polarisation. If you are sure that the antenna correctly pointed to satellite then please check it with isite. To do this,

1. Switch off the terminal, disconnect the tx cable, switch on it again.
2. Open isite, login to terminal
3. On the left panel, right click on the terminal go to Align Antenna / Antenna pointing
4. Seleck Antenna pointing tab, click ok.
5. You should see continous graph with green color, otherwise it means a locking to downstream error. This can be a result of mispointing, faulty lnb or cable/connector i.e.

If you see the satellite signals on the satellite with meter but not with isite try to align the lnb for opposite polarisation angle.

I hope above explanation can solve your problem.

Good luck..

i try entring the modem but its not accepting the general password and even when i try using the console cable, the area where i am suppose to apply USER NAME & PASSWORD is not accepting any carracter (letters).

please do any one have solution for me or what best to do.i believe i have to ship my modems (3) back to the factory (iDirect) but i dont know how to go about this.

please give me good informaton on how to fix my modem, who to contact, how much will  it cost me, how long will the repair take before sending them back to me and how to apply for this cos i can not afford to loose 3 modem just like that.i need your helps all.

There is a password recovery procedure for the iDirect modems.  You should be able to get this from your network operator.
