A 70 MHz transceiver normally comprises an up-converter to get from the 50 - 90 MHz band to a 40 MHz wide section of the 6 GHz transmit band. You then add, for example, a 5 watt C band high power amplifier (C band in and C band out).
On the receive side there is a down-converter that may be tuned to a 40 MHz wide segment of the 4 GHz band. Note that you need an LNA, not an LNB. This downconverter brings out a block of frequencies 50 - 90 MHz to go to the modem receive input. A 70 MHz modem transmits and receives in the range 50 - 90 MHz. If you already have a large number of 70 MHz modems you need transceivers to make use of them. If you have no modems then I would recommend, for least cost, L band modems plus LNB and BUC. Best regards, Eric. |
